NO MSG GRAVY RECIPE HEALTHY WITH VEG


BAD NEWS - THIS GRAVY POWDER HAS MSG IN IT:

I received this comment from a You Tuber this morning. When you think about it, even though my friend thought it was OK. This product is not plant based, and full of chemicals. I have a feeling that the yeast we use for bread making makes people ill also. We need to make our own. Quote from You Tuber Darling Stuff:

Yeast, barley, malt extract, hydr' protein, natural flavourings = ALL MSG. MSG IS TOXIC TO THE BRAIN...an ExcitoToxin, kills brain cells. ALL manufactured gravy powders have this.....it disguises rubbish taste by tricking the taste buds to think the food is DELICIOUS.

WE MUST LISTEN MORE TO DR. MICHAEL GREGER - STICK TO PLANT BASED FOODS. I know it is hard, but his cook book comes out this December 2017. Not long now!





This gravy recipe is suitable for meat eaters, vegetarians and vegans! Especially good for kids that hate veg!

I added broccoli sprouts to my normal gravy recipe, so was not sure if Melody would like it. Thankfully, she eat it! YES!

In our household we all eat different things. Tell me about it. Lots of washing up for MUM! But I aim to please. And do not believe in giving children foods they do not like, and will not eat. 

NO MSG GRAVY RECIPE

This recipe is for one person. My daughter loves her gravy. You could float a small boat in it, LOL!

1 cup of Kale
Medium carrot grated
1 cup of frozen broccoli (Dr Greger recommends frozen)
1 heaped tablespoon of Broccoli Sprouts (optional)
1 half tablespoons of Bisto ORIGINAL Gravy mix
Quarter cup of Japanese Knotweed/Plantain water (optional)
8 oz of distilled water

Add all the ingredients to a blender, blend until smooth. Place in a saucepan, and cook on a medium to low heat for approximately 20 minutes. Once the gravy starts turning brown, turn down the heat and let it simmer. My daughter is fussy, and I mean FUSSY! So I have to sieve the gravy. 

In the above video, I was not sure the gravy would turn out OK, as I added another vegetable. Crafty Mum! Luckily for me, she did not notice, and still eat the gravy. Nothing more satisfying than when a total fluke turns out to be a huge success!

Here is a gravy video I made in 2010. Seven years ago. You can see I used to use MSG gravy power without knowing! And I added vegetables cooked in fat. Home Education has not only helped my daughter, but it has changed my life, and made me a better mum. If it was not for Home Education, I would never have found out about Dr. Michael Greger who has helped me cure my Asthma. Now I can work on my families health. 


As a child I was told brussels sprouts are good for us.  Problem is, "I HATED THEM!" The Tomato Ketchup was on the dinner table ... as a test. And I fell for it. As I reached for the ketchup to drown out the taste of brussels sprouts, my nan said, "Don't insult my cooking!" Back then I did not understand what the big deal was, but I know now. But guess what, I love brussels sprouts now. That is why I do not get worried about what my daughter eats. I try my best to work around what she likes. Sneaking nutrition into things like gravy, and smoothies. We laugh at how her ex friends mother used to make her eat food she did not like, and how she spat it out in the toilet. Who can blame her, chunky chips are far from healthy!

I cannot thank Google and You Tube enough! If it was not for their free service, I would never have found Dr. Michael Greger, and his free Nutrition videos on how plants heal your body. And I have to give a huge thanks to my friend, ex nurse, who warned me about the dangers of taking Inhalers for Asthma. But if you need the inhaler, you must take it, you cannot mess around with Asthma! I only managed to get off my inhalers by keeping an Asthma Diary of everything I eat. I know what makes me ill. To be able to breathe again without medication has done wonders for my health. I am in better health now than I have ever been in my whole life. And I am proud to say, I am 51 years old!

There are a lot of people that have cured their illness on a raw plant food diet. I try and eat as much raw as possible. But I do tend to steam half my broccoli, and eat some raw. Going by this video, as long as you do not cook your broccoli for too long, it is meant to be absorbed by the body better. That is good news for my gravy recipe.
